Pittsburgh received a verbal commitment from Josh Newkirk, a senior guard out of Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Newkirk joins Mike Young, a 6-foot-8 power forward from St. Benedict's Prep, as Pirate pledges for 2013-14.

Beejay Anya will take an official visit to Pittsburgh this weekend.

The 6-foot-8, 270-pound center is one of Pitts’ top recruiting targets for the 2013 class.
